hi! i’m kelly
Wife, mother, FRIEND & INTERIOR DESIGN GEEK
From as far back as I can remember, I’ve been interested in interior design. The way the colours work together, the placement of accessories and art, hardwood or carpet, area rugs and furniture, and how to fit all of this into a room in an aesthetically pleasing way. In fact, if I am watching a movie or looking at a picture, my attention will often stray to the decor in the background instead of what I am supposed to be looking at!
I believe that our home should be our “safe place”. Life can be challenging and downright difficult at times, and we need a space that soothes our mind, body and spirit, To me, this means that the interior of our home should be pleasing to the eye, cosy and comfortable, and above-all, functional.
I also believe that our home should reflect who we are. It should be familiar and comforting, and should be a place where we can totally kick back and be ourselves surrounded by our favourite things. This, to me, is the very essence of the word home.
My background is in legal administration, but I have recently decided to go out on a limb and pursue my interior design passion more seriously. I am currently taking an interior design diploma program through the Interior Design Institute to take my skills to the next level. I also have advanced training in real estate staging. And most importantly, during the course of our marriage, my husband and I have moved some 20+ times; each time providing me with a brand new canvas to design and learn from!
Join me to learn interior design ideas and skills to inspire you to design the home you are meant to live in. Every so often, I’ll throw in a post that has nothing to do with home decor, if I find something interesting I would like to share, or if I want to sound off on something.
I thank you for visiting, and I truly hope you like what you see!
